Today I am working on an outline for a short story I want to have completed by the end of February. Then hopefully I can find a home for it. It’s a quiet Sunday. Some days I spend more time thinking about writing than actually accomplishing it, but thinking about it is part of the process, so nothing wrong with that. I’ve been focusing on movement lately and using an omniscient POV that feels like limited third. Think of Preparation for the Next Life by Atticus Lish for an excellent example of that craft technique.
I’m currently reading two anthologies published by DarkLit Press: Beach Bodies and Slice of Paradise. After that I will be reading The Beast in Aisle 34 by Darrin Doyle.
Two of my favorite collections of short stories I keep going back to are: Song for the Unraveling of the World by Brian Evenson and Greener Pastures by Michael Wehunt.
Recommended reading: Check out Kandisha Press and their Women of Horror Anthology Volumes 1-3. Excellent stuff.
…..back to work and Happy Sunday!
